With the rise of cross-border e-commerce, sellers pay more and more attention to the standardization of Amazon UL reports. It is understood that many sellers have reported that they have received relevant email notifications, and products on sale are more or less affected by UL test reports, and there have been problems such as suspension of sales and listings being removed.

▶Why are UL reports required

The electronic products sold on the Amazon platform must meet the specified standards. If they are not qualified, they are prone to fires, explosions, etc., which endanger the safety of consumers’ lives and property. Therefore, many customers lack UL reports, resulting in the products being taken off the shelves and the right to sell. And so on, it is indispensable that malicious reports between peers trigger review.

Amazon requires related UL reports for live products to be put on the shelves, and a test report issued by an ISO 17025 qualified laboratory (preferably an official Amazon accredited laboratory) can be used to sell normally and restore links.

▶The difference between UL certification and UL report

UL certification is a voluntary certification that requires product testing and factory audits, which are audited every quarter, which is costly and time-consuming, and the factory audit is very strict.

The UL test report is to issue a qualified test report after the product is tested according to the corresponding UL standard. The cost is low, the cycle is short, and the factory audit is not required. Can be used for Amazon review, customs clearance is invalid.

▶UL report processing process

The applicant submits an application;

1. The applicant provides samples and fills in relevant application forms, instructions and technical materials;

2. The laboratory determines the actual standards and related fees based on the seller's platform and related products;

3. Both parties sign a contract agreement;

4. After passing the test, the laboratory will issue a qualified UL report

▶Which products need to provide UL report

Basically, electronic and electrical products are required to provide UL reports on US stations. Different electronic product test standards are different. Common ones are: battery UL1642, battery UL2054, mobile power UL2056, car charger UL2089, audio and video and IT UL62368, small Household appliances UL60335, etc., in addition to UL reports, electronic products on the Amazon domestic site also need to apply for FCC certification, and if it is laser, cosmetics, medical equipment, and food products, they must also apply for FDA registration.
