As the 3.15 International Consumer Rights Day is approaching, the State Administration of Market Supervision has issued consumer reminders for six categories of products, including magnetic toys, children’s balance bikes, and elderly walking shoes.

1. Choose magnetic toys that are not easy to import to prevent young children from suffocating

Consumers should pay attention to when buying magnetic toys: if the size of magnets or magnetic parts is too small, young children are likely to be swallowed and cause suffocation injuries when playing with such magnetic toys. Therefore, magnetic toys that are larger in size and not easy to import should be selected.

2. For children's balance scooter, first check the CCC product certification when purchasing

Children's balance scooter is a riding vehicle toy designed for children aged 2-5. When purchasing, first check whether there is a CCC product certification mark on the product package. At the same time, carefully check whether the product has small detachable parts that may be swallowed or inhaled by children, whether the surface edges are smooth, and whether the gap between the wheel and the frame is dangerous.

3. Children's masks are not suitable for infants and young children, and there is a risk of choking

When buying children's masks, you should check the applicable age, implementation standards, and product categories of the product. You should also choose a mask that fits the size of your face in accordance with the effect of the child's try-on. Due to the possible risk of suffocation, children's masks are not suitable for infants and young children.

4. Non-medical masks purchased through formal channels can also be protected

Non-medical masks can also be called personal protective masks. Consumers should purchase masks with well-packaged and fully-labeled masks through formal channels, and try to avoid personal transactions such as WeChat groups and Moments.

5. Elderly walking shoes, wide and narrow to fully expand the force of the foot is better

Elderly walking shoes are generally wide and narrow so that the foot can be fully expanded when stressed, and the length is so that the toes are not pinched or topped, and the feet do not slide in the shoes when walking. Priority should be given to shoes with buckle fastening and connecting upper, and try to choose rubber outsoles or old shoes with a combination of rubber outsoles (forefoot and heel).

6. Disposable tableware, try to choose colorless products without decorative patterns

When purchasing disposable tableware, consumers should choose well-packaged products, see whether there are key information such as the QS mark on the outer packaging, try to choose colorless products without decorative patterns, and try not to choose products that are too soft to pinch.
