On the occasion of "3.15" International Consumer Rights Day, the Sichuan Provincial Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights ("Sichuan Provincial Consumer Committee") specially launched a series of "Consumer Safety Micro Lectures" activities to popularize consumer knowledge and enhance consumer awareness. Gas safety cannot be ignored. It is very important to choose the right gas appliance. How to choose various types of gas appliances on the market? The Sichuan Provincial Consumer Committee invited experts from the Sichuan Household Appliances Service and Maintenance Industry Association (member unit of the Provincial Consumer Committee, consumer rights protection workstation) to introduce consumers to the knowledge of gas appliances purchase and precautions for use.

According to experts, from October 1, 2019, household gas appliances (household gas stoves, household gas instant water heaters, and gas heating water heaters) will be included in the scope of CCC certification management. From October 1, 2020, household gas appliances that have not obtained the compulsory product certification and are not marked with the compulsory certification mark shall not leave the factory, sell, import or use in other business activities. When purchasing, consumers should choose products produced by regular manufacturers with qualified quality, which must be installed by professionals and used after passing the test.

The flameout protection device can not be less
When cooking, it often happens that the gas stove is extinguished due to liquid overflow and blowing. The flameout protection device is generally installed between the inner and outer ring fire covers (as shown in the figure).

In addition, when the gas conduit adopts the hose joint, it should conform to the two structures (9.5mm and 13mm) shown in GB16410-2007 "Household Gas Cooker", commonly known as the "pagoda head" structure (as shown in the figure). The unqualified structure of the gas pipe may cause the gas pipe to fall off, causing risks such as gas leakage.

In-line water heaters should not be used

Gas water heaters should choose strong discharge water heaters. According to experts, since October 1999, my country has clearly prohibited the production of direct discharge water heaters, and since May 2000, the sale of such products has been prohibited. The exhaust methods of the two are different. The strong exhaust water heater directly discharges the waste smoke and exhaust gas to the outdoors; the direct exhaust water heater discharges the exhaust gas indoors, and the flue gas contains toxic gases. If the environment is closed, it is easy to cause suffocation, hypoxia and carbon monoxide poisoning. When a certain concentration is reached, it will detonate and cause a fire in case of an open flame.

Installation location is important
Experts remind you that you should pay attention to the type of pipeline gas source when purchasing gas appliances, and confirm whether the model of the machine matches the gas source when receiving the goods. During installation, the horizontal clear distance between the main gas riser and the burning appliance should not be less than 30cm, and the horizontal clear distance between the stove front pipe and the burning appliance should not be less than 20cm; when the gas pipe passes over the burning appliance, it should be located above the range hood, and should be connected to the range hood. The vertical clear distance of burning appliances should be greater than 100cm. House decoration should not blindly pursue aesthetics, and gas pipelines and gas facilities should not be buried or sealed. In addition, stainless steel metal hoses are preferred for hoses connecting gas appliances. It is recommended to install gas leakage alarm devices at home, or equip small dry powder fire extinguishers and other equipment. In our daily life, we should "put people out of the fire, and keep their breath away from people".

If the negotiation fails, you can report it to the consumer rights protection workstation or the local consumer committee organization. If the mediation fails, you can sue to the court.
