Question one

A group of friends asked: What standard is suitable for an electric nail sharpener powered by two dry batteries and non-rechargeable batteries?

Qunyou answer: IEC 60335-1:2016 Ed5.2 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Part 1: General Requirements" Standard Appendix S has requirements for non-rechargeable batteries

Expert answers:

On the one hand, the “electric nail sharpener powered by two dry batteries and non-rechargeable batteries” is also an electrical appliance, which belongs to GB 4706.1-2005 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Part 1: General Requirements" (IEC 60335-1:2004, IDT ) Standard scope. For example, in normal use, the temperature of the electric nail sharpener should not be too high to cause burns and damage to internal parts (Chapter 11 heat) is also applicable, not only for 220V products.

On the other hand, whether "electric nail sharpener powered by two dry batteries and non-rechargeable batteries" can refer to GB 4706.9-2008/IEC 60335-2-8:2002 "Safety shavers and electric pushers for household and similar electrical appliances" Some applicable clauses in the "Special Requirements for Scissors and Similar Appliances" standard enhance the safety of products, which need to be further explored.

Question two

Qunyou asked: Can one product engrave two product models?

Answers from group friends: Yes, please state the difference, if you need to add the test, you can add the test.

Expert answers:

The standard GB 4706.1-2005 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Part 1: General Requirements" stipulates:

7.1 The appliance should have a mark with the following contents:

——Rated voltage or rated voltage range, in volts (V);

——Symbols of the nature of the power source, except those marked with rated frequency;

-Rated input power, in watts (W) or rated current, in amperes (A);

——The name, trademark or identification mark of the manufacturer or responsible underwriter;

——Apparatus model or serial number;

——The symbol 5172 of GB/T 5465. 2 (idt IEC 60417) is only marked on Class II appliances;

——IP code of waterproof grade, IPX0 is not marked.

If “one product is engraved with two product models”, is it “on one product” that there are two models at the same time? For example, a person has two ID cards with different numbers at the same time. The Ministry of Public Security does not agree. It cannot be traced back to this person. Similarly, how to manage this "engraved two models" product in the factory product quality assurance system?

Conversely, if the manufacturer names the product as two models for different sales channels, the essence is exactly the same, which is allowed, like "twin brothers", but with different names.

Question three

Qunyou asked: Can the water leakage in GB 4706.1-2005 standard 22.6 be understood as the pipes and containers that have passed water cannot be used as a layer of insulation?

Expert answers:

GB 4706.1-2005 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Part 1: General Requirements" (IEC 60335-1:2004, IDT) standard stipulates:

22.6 The structure of the appliance should be such that its electrical insulation is not affected by water that may condense on cold surfaces or liquids that may leak from containers, hoses, joints and similar parts of the appliance. If the hose breaks or the seal leaks, the electrical insulation of Class II appliances and Class II structures should not be affected.

Determine whether it is qualified by inspection. When in doubt, perform the following tests:

Use a syringe to drop the colored aqueous solution into the appliance where there may be liquid leakage and affect electrical insulation. The appliance can be in a working state or a stopped state, whichever is more unfavorable.

After this test, the visual inspection shall show that there is no trace of liquid in the winding or insulation that can cause the creepage distance to decrease below the value specified in 29.2.

So "pipes and containers that have passed water" are not "neither can be used as a layer of insulation", but "the hose will break or the seal will leak." To put it plainly, the pipes and containers that pass water are of course insulated, but this kind of insulation may age, crack and leak.

Question four

Qunyou asked: Products are sold to Macau, Macau uses traditional characters, and the plug is English. Applying for CCC in China requires that the product nameplate and manual must be in simplified form, and the plug must be domestic? Is that the case?

Qunyou Answer: Can Hong Kong and Macau be shipped directly with CCC? The customers who are currently contacting there request a CB report, and the instruction manual is in traditional + English.

Expert answers:

This is the principle.

GB 4706.1-2005 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Part 1: General Requirements" (IEC 60335-1:2004, IDT) standard stipulates:

7.13 Instructions for use and other text required by this section should be written in the official language of the country where the appliance is sold.
