The UK market access certification

As we all know, the United Kingdom has already left the European Union and is currently in the transitional period of Brexit, which will end at the end of 2020. According to the announcement of the British government on September 1st, starting from January 1, 2021, the UKCA logo will be officially opened for use. Most of the products currently under the control of the CE mark must be affixed with the UKCA mark if they are to be exported to the UK market (England, Wales and Scotland) in the future.

UKCA will serve as a sign of mandatory access for products in the UK market. For most products, the CE mark will no longer be used as an entry mark for the UK market after January 1, 2022. All related products must comply with the British National Standards beginning with "BS".

Based on the above announcement, companies that continue to export products to the UK market (England, Wales and Scotland) need to act as soon as possible! If the company has only done CE certification in a non-British notified body before, it may need to contact a UKCA issuing agency such as BSI to apply for UKCA certification as soon as possible.

It is understood that the British national standards agency BSI has launched the "UKCA Ready Verification Service" - UKCA pre-assessment service. Between now and the end of this year, BSI has been able to provide this pre-assessment service and issue corresponding pre-assessment certificates for companies that apply.
