On August 28, 2020, the National Certification and Accreditation Administration Commission issued an announcement from the CNCA on clarifying the mandatory product certification requirements for 5G mobile user terminals. The announcement clarified that 5G mobile user terminals belong to the scope of mandatory product certification, that is, 5G products are on the market. CCC certification is required before.

The full name of CCC certification is "China Compulsory Certification", the English name is China Compulsory Certification, and the English abbreviation is CCC. The Chinese government implements a product conformity assessment system in accordance with laws and regulations to protect consumers' personal safety and national security, strengthen product quality management.

In addition, a total of three certifications are required for 5G products to go on the market, CCC certification, network access license and non-commissioned approval certificate. These three certificates are independent and indispensable. Products with these certificates can be listed.

CCC certification standards for 5G products

In the "Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules for Telecommunications Terminal Equipment" (No.: CNCA-C16-01: 2014, hereinafter referred to as the implementation rules), YD/T2583.18 "Electromagnetic Compatibility Requirements and Measurement Methods for Cellular Mobile Communication Equipment No. 18" is added Part: 5G User Equipment and Equipment", as the electromagnetic compatibility standard for 5G mobile user terminal CCC certification.

5G product certification arrangement
(1) Starting from the date of the announcement on August 28, the designated certification body shall implement CCC certification for 5G mobile user terminals in accordance with the relevant requirements of the implementation rules.
(2) For 5G mobile user terminals that have obtained CCC certification in accordance with the requirements of 4G and other standards in the early stage, the certification client shall submit a supplementary test application based on YD/T2583.18 to the designated certification body, and renew the CCC certification certificate after passing the test. The certificate conversion should be completed before June 30, 2021, and the designated certification body that has not been converted after the expiry date should be cancelled.

(3) The designated certification bodies and laboratories of "mobile user terminal", if they have the certification and testing capability of YD/T2583.18, can directly undertake the CCC certification and testing work of 5G mobile user terminals, and will not be designated separately.
