Plug and socket Saudi GCC + SABER certification

All plugs, sockets and extension cord components exported to Saudi Arabia need to apply for G-mark certification and SABER certification at the same time before they can be successfully cleared and sold to the Saudi market. According to the GCC Standards Organization (GSO) requirements, all regulated products must be affixed with the GCC logo. These specific GCC logo products can be more easily circulated and traded among GCC members. According to the requirements of the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO) regulations, plug and socket products are high-risk products within the control, and must be registered on the SABER platform and apply for a product PC (Product Certificate) certificate and batch SC (Shipment Certificate) certificate to enter the Saudi market . Here's how to apply for GCC certification and SABER certification of plugs and sockets.

Plug and socket GCC certification process:
The manufacturer provides product information (instructions, circuit diagrams, customs codes), samples and G-mark certification application; the organization conducts document review, and evaluates the product safety and electromagnetic compatibility according to the GCC technical regulations, determines product test standards and tests; the organization Complete the test, write and review the report, and register the product in the GSO database. The certification system assigns the product registration number; the organization issues a G-mark form certificate and grants the customer to use the G-mark mark on the product.
 
Notes on GCC certification:
a) You can use the CB certificate report and the EMC certificate report application within the validity period of 3 years. The agency audit report contains national deviations and meets the requirements; this EMC certificate report needs to be issued by an accredited institution designated by GSO;
b) No factory audit and no annual fee, the G-mark certificate is valid for three years from the date of issuance;
c) The product manual needs to be bilingual in English + Arabic;

d) After getting the G-mark, the products exported to these seven Gulf countries need to apply for customs clearance documents of the corresponding countries;


SABER certification process for plugs and sockets:

1. The importer registers an account on SABER at www.saber.sa2. Submit an IEC test report and apply for a PC certificate on the SABER system. If there is no test report, you must first submit samples to an authorized laboratory for a test report; Apply for SC certificate for each batch of goods at the time of shipment.
