Information | UK Official Announcement New Measures for UKCA Marking

The UK government announced a series of changes on 20 June 2022 to make it easier for businesses to apply the UKCA Conformity Mark on products sold in England, Scotland and Wales (Great Britain).
The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) logo is a mandatory logo applicable to some specific products, such as electrical appliances, mechanical equipment, gloves, footwear, toys and furniture, etc., to indicate that the product complies with UK regulations. In view of the fact that the UK has officially left the EU, from January 1, 2023, relevant products must use the UKCA mark to replace the original CE mark.
Reduce retest costs
Any conformity assessment activities undertaken by EU bodies until the end of 2022 will be considered the basis for the UKCA logo next year, with legislation to be introduced by the end of the year, a move that enables manufacturers to apply UKCA directly on the basis of EU conformity assessment activities logo.
Remove requirement to retest existing import inventory
The measure will allow CE-marked products manufactured and imported into the UK by the end of 2022 to be freely sold on the UK market without having to meet UKCA requirements, a move that will ease the burden on businesses of re-marking existing stock.
Continue to accept spare parts into the Great Britain market
The United Kingdom will continue to accept spare parts for the repair, replacement, or maintenance of goods that are consistent with the original product or system for placing on the British market. This will help reduce the concerns of businesses and organizations about missing parts and avoid the impact of missing parts on their operations.
Expanded labelling measures
In order to enable companies to continue to supply the UK stably, legislation will be proposed to expand labelling convenience and continue to allow companies to affix the UKCA logo on accompanying documents or labels by labelling until December 31, 2025.
